Regarding the media coverage of the drug possession of private Zhang in the 332 Camp of the ministry, the Military Police Command has provided the following explanations:
1. The case regarding the illegal drug possession of private Zhang of 332 Camp seized by the police a few days ago has been taken over by the Wanhua branch of the Taipei City Police Department for investigation. The media reported that private Zhang plants the drugs himself and has been arrested at camp by the police, which is a misinterpretation; the entire case has entered the judicial procedure, and the ministry will cooperate with the investigation of the police.
2. The ministry will uphold the principle of “The Innocents Will Not Be Wronged, and the Guilty Will Be Severely Punished” regarding the violation of private Zhang, and sentence him with 2 major demerits as well as conduct disposal procedure.
3. The Military Police Command emphasized that the ministry will profoundly review the cause of this incident, and continue to reinforce the education of military law and discipline for affiliated officers and soldiers to prevent similar incident from occurring again.
